　　50年前，BBC需要的只是能启发孩子学习科学兴趣的Doctor。
　　50年后的现在，科学已经是陪衬；宇宙可以被不断幻想和创造。Rules can be broken and created.
　　而真正面对我们的是一个永远不会结束的争议。
　　Humanity, the never-ending representations and debates in Humanity.
　　而这样的争议永远不会有标准答案。
　　
　　
　　早先Russell T. Davies笔下的Doctor
　　Fanny, serious, sciency, stands up tall and never give in.
　　
　　Russell 的关注点永远在Doctor身上，what would the Doctor do? what would the Doctor choose?
　　他可以在知道历史的情况下，残酷地选择毁灭一个美丽的庞贝保护整个地球；然后又回头救下他唯一能救的一家四口；
　　他也可以在知道未来的情况下，勇敢地选择在火星基地转身救下他认为应该牺牲的Captain Brooke，却想不到她不领情地选择的自杀，out of shame。
　　He has become a better person, after the time war, because of the humanities which constantly strike him from his companions;
　　He also nearly died because of humanity, on a midnight train, facing a creature that was only learning his words.
　　当他开心的时候，他可以让跑给莎士比亚一些灵感；
　　当他正直的时候，他可以拯救一个被奴役的种族；
　　当他伤心的时候，他可以燃烧一个太阳说一声再见；
　　而当他愤怒的时候，他可以把一家四口推入相隔千里且无穷无尽的地狱。
　　就像Master和Donna 曾经说的: You must feel like a god.
　　如此高高在上，这一秒他可以英雄，下一秒他可以是魔鬼。It all depends on him.
　　以至于唯一的一次当他忘记了自己的身份，变成真正的人类时。

　　Well, thanks to the human race, we got him on the right side.
　　In return, we always need our hero to defeat enemies and solve problems. 也许在剧情中没多少人知道这位英雄，但作为旁观者的我们，他的形象已不可泯灭。

　　他一度有那么多的朋友和伙伴并肩作战，但到了最后连Master都不愿为他重生，那么孤独。

　　Steven Moffat对Doctor有着完全不同的Idea。他笔下的Doctor，
　　Silly, clever, clumsy, fascinated about new explorations and always make it up as he goes along.
　　
　　Clara说过: we had enough warriors, any old idiot can be a hero....(Now) be a doctor.
　　Moffat 觉得doctor不应该是个英雄，他只是 a old man who likes expeditions, 一个富有智慧的老顽童。
　　他经常说: This is new. 然后开心得像个孩子。
　　虽然他仍旧不是人类，经常对人类的行为表示不解。
　　比如为什么Amy and Rory总是在接吻，或是为什么人们不吃Fish finger and custard，或是为什么裸体是不礼貌的。
　　但是他又像是茫茫人海中的一份子，比任何人都明白humanity的意义。比任何人都明白语言的力量。
　　他很少再用那个老方法：give you a choice, if not accepted, then destroy.
　　Instead, he always give brilliant speeches.
　　他明白最简单父爱能战胜孩子在衣橱里的恐惧；
　　他明白火星大元帅的荣誉和尊严能展现对人类仁慈；
　　他明白只有个人的偏见导致社会对化学分身的不平等和虐待。
　　他也明白最后的宽慰虽然救不了梵高的性命，但可以给他带来希望。
　　这一次他不再是那个救世主，解决问题的也不一定是他。
　　但他可以用他的名声吓跑半个宇宙，然后又可以毫不犹豫地删除自己在宇宙中的存在。
　　Still clever though, 总是能随机应变。比如打落重力球逃脱天使的围困，或是在垃圾场里重建一个TARDIS，或是恢复宇宙 from Big Bang two。
　　For him, everything and everyone is equally important for the past 1200 years.
　　"Every life I save is a victory, every single one"
　　
　　However, he sometimes got carried away, like we all, so some reminders were needed.
　　And River is always there.
　　当他达到胜利的至高点的时候，River 警告他一半的宇宙可能感激你的贡献和拯救，但剩下的另一半只会把他当成魔鬼和武士。Destroy his name and everything he ever worked for.
　　
　　“You make them so afraid. The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name. "Doctor": the word for "healer" and "wise man", throughout the universe. We get that word from you, y'know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? ”
　　
　　而当他一个人秘密地奔赴死亡时，还是River 告诉他， 他不是孤孤单单一个人，他也可以拥有宇宙的帮助和关心, especially the love from her.
　　
　　“I can't let you die, without knowing you are loved. By so many, and so much. ”
　　
　　所有的一切仿佛在说:Doctor，他和我们是平等的，不过是我们中的一员，a special friend, that's all。他可以影响周围的一切，但是周围的一切也可以影响他。 This is us, This is Humanity.
　　
　　
　　In the end,
　　他可以不停地奔跑前进, 探索每一个不断变化的星座，文明，宇宙的角落。
　　也可以无怨无悔地，用尽余生为一个星球的安稳和和平守护上三百年。
　　He is just a old man, who fix toys for the children and fight monsters for the Time lords, with a bit of luck.
　　
　　所以当他最后离时，没有悲伤和遗憾，只有微笑的宽慰。
　　因为我们都明白，无论时Time lord 还是human，we all have to go when we must.
　　
　　"Everything you are, gone in a moment, like a breath on a mirror...
　　We all change.. we are all different people all through our lives.
　　That's Ok, that's good, you've got to keep moving. so long as you remember all the people you are used to be."
　　
　　最美的结局，也许就是平静地接受，with tears。
　　And maybe this exactly why I like him, better.
